About Charlotte Seager
Having taught art in the public schools, K-12, and then 6 years in just the high school, I felt it was time to get out in the "real" world and focus on my own art expression through collage and acrylics. I find the two media to be complementary. The lovely textures that can be achieved through collage are a nice contrast to the flat colors of the acrylic paintings, while the simplicity of the acrylic paintings balance the more detailed work of the collage. However, I rarely do pure collage and find that I must tie the elements together with paint.
My work flows from my inner world and often surprises me with the messages I get from them. There is a surreal quality to my work that reminds me of dreamscapes. As a student of A Course in Miracles, and as an expressive therapist, I see the world as a hologram that I create in my own image, and it changes constantly!
